"Oh, you're having your first child? Let me give you some unsolicited advice!"

And can we agree that "over-engineered" is a bit a misnomer? There couldn't have been any analysis done to minimize weight or cost and still achieve it's functional objective. Let's call it "over-designed" or "civil-engineered" instead.

Or worked in politics.

Thanks. I don't have one so I was getting my info from Wikipedia.

Since the question does not specify that such speed must be accompanied by four wheels, I'll suggest pretty much any used sport-bike. A used Hayabusa can be found for easily less then 8k. Stock, it can do a quarter mile in under 10 and has a top speed of nearly 200 mph. Name me a car that can do that for less money.

Yes!

+1. And it comes with a machine gun mount!

So, like Tom Waits then?

I agree. This is the only one of several Google related posts recently worth reading.

Extra points for a Star Trek reference!

Does iOS even allow that? I thought any music service that competes with itunes wouldn't be allowed.

An Xbox with Kinect has an extremely half-assed implementation of something like this. I can pause and play Netflix videos with my voice and that works reasonably well. But that's about the only thing you can do. It frustrates me greatly that MS won't integrate Kinect voice control more deeply.

As I myself have discovered recently, this is a somewhat common southern food. And it delicious. There is something about the oil from the chicken that really compliments the maple syrup (or vise versa). Don't knock it 'till you try it.

I too have never said that phrase except in jest and then only about things irrelevant to engineering. Arrogant engineers get people killed.

Motorola! Take note!

Jesus, I love you right now. Thank you.

Preach it brother. This is more important that most people realize and its consequences cannot be overstated. This will kill the internet.

Next up? SOPA.

That's about the only thing I use Voice Search for, too. But I use it religiously because it is practically perfect.

Thanks! I did not know that.
