What's wrong with $20k (after tax) on a Corolla? Are you saying you don't like it, they didn't negotiate, a new econo car's not worth $20k or they got too high a trim? Just curious, even though I wouldn't do it for some of those reasons, it doesn't seem like the dumbest new car to buy.

No way. We had this exact model trying to go the cheap/frugal route and it is horrible vacuum. It can't pick up anything on smooth surfaces - spits them around and at you and long hair clogs up the brush roll very easily and is not easy to remove.
