Uber’s involved, so I’m betting on their cars being shitty. “Drive through a red light” shitty.

As I understand it, some lifts are so shitty they’re not really fit for driving on anything bumpier than a mall parking lot.

While it was the other guy’s fault, perhaps an attentive human driver could have avoided the accident.

It’s like a scene out of The Mist.

No point taking excessive risks over some random junkyard retread.

They might well be willing to kill you and stuff your body in the trunk of a junk car, where you might not be found until the smell gets overwhelming.

The point is that “an evening meal” is not inherently any different from a meal at any other time, and thus forgoing alcohol is not any more difficult.

Probably a lot of people get away with it after bribing the cop. Probably a lot of people who are stone sober end up bribing a cop to get out of a baseless DUI charge.

I basically don’t drink when I live someplace that requires driving. When I lived in Chicago and Boston, with convenient public transit? Drinks! When I live in Connecticut, nothing.

Not particularly useful as an area weapon. Shooting tanks with a Navy ship’s rail gun is kinda stupid.

I think I would have, at a minimum, replaced the casters with feet. Or even better, bolted the base to the floor.

It would have been nasty if during the initial wobbling his feet had dipped low enough to catch on the restraining straps.

Or the pneumatic cylinder could have come unstuck from the seat or the base, dropping him sideways, possibly some rolling/bouncing.

The straps were probably the most reliable aspect of the stunt. The chair gives me the willies.
