I know...it’s like climbing on private property in an area with tons of legal climbing options. Or when people ignore raptor closings and scare falcons away from nesting sites. Or when people climb in Moab (and other fragile environments) after it rains (just wait a couple days, people).
Not only is a ton of the now-excluded land culturally significant, it’s geologically amazing! Over 100 arches are now excluded in a time when arches are crumbling due to both natural and human-made wear-and-tear. The lack of protection makes these beautiful sites sitting ducks for misuse that can lead to destruction.
I read about this from another source and it really made me sad. I don’t really off-road (I mean, I take my truck off-road to get to climbing destinations, but I don’t go out with the express purpose of driving off-road), but I’m a climber and climbing is a sport that also straddles the fine line between natural…
A meal that I didn’t have to prepare, serve, and clean up after?
Meanwhile, my most recent complex let my upstairs neighbours (who imitated elephants with every step after 10pm) keep their totalled Grand Prix in the spot nearest the building for 2 months because “they were working on getting it moved”. The front end was held on with jumper cables and when it did finally get moved…
I have SkyMiles with Delta. I flew a lot for work over the summer (my company flies with Delta) and they offered me Gold Medallion status for 3 months for free. a personal vacation and another work trip fell in those three months and I was upgraded to first class on every flight. Even if someone booked the same…
AKA $15B.
Less than $7500 times 200K times GM, Ford, Tesla, FCA, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai/Kia, VW, BMW, Mercedes, Nissan, and Subaru. And that’s currently possible.
I’ve got a husky and we’re in his version of Bad Winter....it’s cold but there’s no snow. Where is the snow? He wants snow. Lots of snow.
Yeah, the self-check-out lines at my local grocery stores are always packed. My local Meijer has a lady staffed at the self-check-out area to speed-up slow people. She yells at you if you’re lolly-gagging, “Hurry up, people, I’ve got a line that needs to move!”. I love her.
The credit union at my university not only charged a service to members and non-members, but I think also skimmed. They said that not all the coins make it to the counter when the machine runs and some get stuck “at the bottom” but it was too much of a hassle to argue over a dollar when I was changing $100+. I ended…
I go a to a you-wash-it place where I use quarters to pay-by-the-minute for water. The place I go to heats the water, so it’s warm and you can typically at least give your car a rinse before it freezes (and when it does freeze, at least it’s clean water). It took a while to find one of these places, but once I found…
My dad has a 2006 (I think) Accord that he claims is still peachy at 275K. It is if you ignore that it skips 3rd, the driver seat leather is demolished, the speedometer doesn’t work, and the turn signals don’t work. It drives, but it’s not in great shape and he has zero plans of selling it when he’s done with it. He…
I don’t disagree at all. But like 10-15 years or __ million cycles, not “as soon as the warranty ends.”
My 2016 Colorado has had several rattles/clicks/ticks covered and when I worked at a plant as a customer quality engineer, we had replaced MANY interior panels on warranty (including on the dash) in order to eliminate rattles.
Re: the Civic, my 2010 shat out two HVAC systems in years 3-5 of ownership, right after the OG warranty ran out. My sister’s 2011 has a dash rattle that we can’t find and she’s been through several wheel speed sensors. These issues also cropped up just after the OG warranty ran out.
In GM’s case, announcing that production of the Blazer will be in Mexico was a terrible move optics-wise (but not necessarily a bad move business-wise as the Ramos plant already makes the Equinox crossover), all the plants being closed aren’t at all equipped to handle crossover production and would have required and…
