The worst part of working in the industry is having known this for years and not being able to say anything every time you yahoos post an article or comments about “maybe it is?!?!?!” or “GM would never do XYZ”.

So then, (re: your initial comment to this thread) how does someone commenting on Tesla’s styling make them a oil-loving Neanderthal?
When I read this article I felt very conflicted for that very reason—I totally get why many women will benefit from this measure, but it’s not fair for women to get period days, but a person (male or female) to not get extra leave days for other chronic illness (Crohn’s popped into my head).
Electric cars are most definitely the future, but that doesn’t mean we all have to suck Elon’s dick.
We totally can do something about it. Norms don’t change overnight, you’re right, but they do change. The whole purpose of this article is to attempt to change just a few peoples’ minds about women in racing.
I got so excited when I graduated and got out for FSAE because it would mean that I could finally paint my nails. Then I picked up rock climbing. And if there’s anything worse for nail polish than car stuff, it’s climbing.
You’re missing the point.
I wish I could star more than once.
I drove from Tampa to Yosemite NP in 48 hours with a co-driver. Wasn’t too bad. I drove while he slept and vice versa.
Makes sense.
Maybe it was regional. Sedans and wagons were pretty much all the family cars in my neighborhood.
But it seems like many people were able to haul kids and groceries without crossovers in the 90's. Minivans were a thing, but I don’t think their market penetration was nearly that of the crossover/SUV these days.
I don’t know if absessive was considering buying an SRT or an R/T and needed to figure out which one. If that was the case, he/she should have made a point that the SRT was a serious candidate. There’s no reason that test drive should have been denied.
I get that, but the original poster was buying an R/T not an SRT. So it’s not at all unreasonable for the dealership to decline his or her request to test drive an SRT. That’s like being mad that the Chevy dealership didn’t like you test drive a Grand Sport when you were shopping for a 2LT/3LT Stingray.
I volunteered with race ops for the Miami ePrix. They only did one race there. The whole gig was very unorganized and I’m surprised it was pulled off. The security company employees/volunteers sometimes didn’t let race ops into certain areas (like the race ops trailer) despite hi-vis vests, proper credentials, etc.…
Side note: I’m not implying that you’re a douche canoe, absessive. Just that it’s reasonable for them to restrict SRT test drives to people who are about to throw down for an SRT.
I can only imagine the number of douche canoes they get in there wanting to driver SRTs and Hellcats, only to buy a used Avenger because that’s all they can afford.
I’vebeen driving past the Silverdome every day for two months and I didn’t even notice the completely packed parking lots until you posted the previous article about them. The lots are so full! It’s hard to believe they’re all Dieselgate cars.
I was partly joking, but if you’re serious I will.
