As someone who lived through “purity” culture on the female side, reading your takedown was cathartic. Thank you.

We beat it on the 4th try last night. I played Thorn as a sniper to deal with the stuff that spawns on the 3rd story (I died to the final machine gunners that spawn but it saved the mission since they attacked me, not the AI.) We had ISIC and Orendi down at the AI for waveclear, and a Miko keeping the two of them…
People used to get engaged at that age.
People are getting married later so it’s something to be grandiose and silly about at 17 again.
I’m pretty sure this is the future of housing. Find one of these with awesome neighbors, and you’ve just become way more sustainable and solved the problem of community with your neighborhood. Of course I’d like *slightly* nicer furniture, maybe a furnish-your-own option.
Agree with the issues you’re juggling 100%! We’re debating between portmanteauing, hyphenating, or just keeping our own names (but then WHAT ABOUT THE BABY, as you pointed out).
Loving this short-girl tip! Skinny jeans are a godsend because they look okay wrinkled or roll-cuffed at the ankles. I’m going to try the knee trick now, too
I’ve definitely felt pressure to like the “right” games. Geek culture was basically the first culture I found after a hyper-conservative childhood. I had (mostly guys) telling me which games were cool from before I even started playing so that shaped a lot of the early games I tried, since I didn’t want to be the…
Still playing through Divinity:Original Sin with the bf. We quit last weekend after hitting an annoying sneaking puzzle, but shall return with potions of invisibility.
I’d love to get some visibility on this! Every little bit helps. I emailed Clover, the post author, but so far I think my comment got lost in her spam.
Just made a Whitehouse.gov petition. Bam! http://wh.gov/ifwEG
Once in freshman year I was practicing an angry monologue from “The Birds,” in my dorm room, which in addition to being a classic Greek play about violent murder has a lot of angry bird sounds in it like “Epopopoi popoi popopopoi popoi.”
Yes! I teared up when I saw her in the trailer. I’ve loved Star Wars since I was a toddler (my parents were geeks) and seeing someone like ME as the main character was just profound.
The dogfights were wheeeeeeeee fun. The main characters have a lovely mix of earnestness and charm (and I feel like they have higher emotional intelligence than the original characters?). Artoo, Threepio, and BB8 are all my faves.
My cousin’s dad, who died, has a twin. It’s weird.
The movie and the book are both different and both wonderful, kind of like Howl’s Moving Castle and the movie version.
If you find a guy with high EQ (emotional intelligence), this is the best kind of guy to date. If he cares about how you’re feeling it can help all of the other things get better. If he only cares about how you’re feeling WHEN IT AFFECTS HIM NEGATIVELY, you’ll end up breaking up.
My guy, typically, was not brought up…
This will be great for cosplay, larp, and other costumes.
I would love it if legalese had to be accompanied by good technical writing that explains things in tl;dr fashion.
Multiplayer games are my favorite date with my bf. Borderlands is the best. He stuns, I snipe, it’s magic!
I picked up Divinity: Original Sin based on reviews that it had good multiplayer. It didn’t click for us at first, but now we’re playing the enhanced edition and are off to the races! It’s fun to try turn-based…
