Me and my bf do the “sometimes vegetarian” thing too! For health, the environment, and now I guess cost, too.
Any advice on finding a group that likes indie RPGs and is more into storytelling and roleplaying? I love hack-and-slash as much as the next gal, but I tend to get my fill of that in video games. I’m looking for a little more of an active-improv feel in my tabletop games.
I treat open world games more like sandbox games. It’s okay that I never completed the main quest in Skyrim, because I got to wander all over the countryside and indulge in blue skies exploration.
For long “single plot arc” games, I have to like the core gameplay mechanic enough that it keeps me coming back. I’ve…
She let herself laugh at some of the ridiculous ways culture ties itself in knots, particularly around things like gender, religion, and sex. Laughing made it okay to think about these things again instead of having knee-jerk reactions.
Wow. I’m getting serious flashbacks to “homeschool-chic” with all these jumpers and long denim skirts.
However, I may FINALLY be able to replace my old comfy pair of corduroy bell bottoms, which ARE from the 90s.
I credit Pratchett with saving my mom from right-wing conservative culture. That’s how good he is.
Is there a difference in being reserved about negative feelings vs. positive ones? I feel like sometimes I’m following the old advice to Thumper: If you can’t say somethin’ nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.
e.g. rather than rolling my eyes at something stupid someone in my vicinity is doing, I’ll just pretend to ignore…
I was definitely too late on this. Beta’s full. :/
Thanks for writing this. I often find myself hesitant to share goals, plans, and other “unfinished” things with several of my family members, and I have been wondering why that is. I think it’s because some family members’ concern is so strong, that their questions reawaken or intensify all of my concerns about the…
I am a sucker for “game comes to life” type movies, and I think Pixels is the dumbest movie coming out this year.
Ugh, my vacation plans got completely derailed by a surprise move (landlord is selling the building, I suspect). I can’t even push it back a month or two because the move could drain the money I would have spent on a trip. I’m not sure where I’ll be moving, either, so I can’t plan a non-traveling vacation easily.
It’s…
I’m in a similar boat! I had been kind of planning to not have kids, but my serious bf really wants at least one. I’ve been thinking I could probably do it, and that it would probably be a good experience in the end. I think I’ve gotten past the “oh no, it will ruin everything!” phase, because I honestly believe that…
I negotiated a 20k raise by asking for 40k. I researched average salaries not only for my job title but also modified by industry (software), experience level, management level (I was coming in as the manager for a small team to be built out by me), and cost of living increase in moving to NYC. It also helped that…
Is there a “good” way to wear suspenders with boobs?
In an equal relationship, both of you should feel like you’re doing 60% of the work. This mentality actually helps a lot.
Dragon Shire! I like the point control aspect. In the beginning it’s a pretty boring 2v2 at top and bottom and some sniping in mid to hop into the statue, but as the game goes on the choices get more interesting. Can your besieged team steal the statue while the other team is pushing into your base? A single player…
Cherry Limeade sounds delish.
Has anyone else ever hired an incompetent wedding planner? I haven’t gotten married yet but I got really close one time, to the point where we had a deposit down on the venue and the food truck.
I thought a wedding planner would be awesome but she ended up almost needing the amount of project management to remind her…
Is Docker the new LAMP, or is it just the first version of containerization to catch on in web hosting best practices?
