When I’m behind a car with one of those at a stop light, I flash my headlights every time their 3rd light blinks. Just want to make sure they know I’m back there.

Obligatory. “See, they install that TruCoat at the factory, there’s nothin’ we can do.”
Now’s a horrible time to sell a car privately in NYS; they closed the DMV’s.
Uh....
It’s called a “precaution”. They’re not building anything for a few weeks at least, and have no idea how long this will last. Saving some cash while you still have it on hand is a good idea.
GM has 164,000 employees. Mary Barra has a $2.1mn salary. That’s $13/person. Even if the total senior leadership team sums to 10x her salary (it doesn’t,) that’s only $130 per employee.
They should just from a PR perspective it’d be brilliant if they marketed it correctly.
I’d be much happier with an 80% paycheck than a 0%.
Ah yes, the “cut”. Which means nothing to them when they make six figures to make decisions that enrich themselves and their shareholders at the expense of their employees and their company’s long-term health.
I would take 75% to sit at home and play video games. I would be more annoyed to take a 20% cut and be expected to deliver the same amount of work. Either way better then letting people go and leaving them with no healthcare in the middle of this.
Waive it at the poors.
Have you ever worked in the auto industry, or any industry for that matter? This isn’t your neighbor’s basement startup, it’s a massive company without access to manufacturing facilities or pretty much any other development facilities. To maintain 75% productivity is a lofty goal when your entire workforce is…
It may be less costly in the long run if a company is set up this way, but they are still paying rent on the leases for this year (or the debt on offices they built). I don’t see what this has to do with worker productivity. No one is buying cars so they have no cash flow to pay salaries.
How will Mary survive if she only makes 14.7 million this year instead of 21 million?
2nd Gear, Also note that there is funding in there for the cruise industry, which goes out of their way to set up their corporate headquarters outside of the US in order to avoid paying taxes here...
Those of us on the East Coast are already at work when NP/CP gets posted. It’s my morning ritual :D
The new Defender is the best Discovery ever
This thing is baffling. It’s as complex as a Range Rover, but it has the affect of a basic 4x4 so it’s nowhere near as nice inside. But it costs basically as much as one. And it looks like the old Freelander.
Any possibility of the writers on this site hiding their liberal views just a tad? Not all of us are lefty whakos and I’d rather just enjoy some entertainment with out the ever pervasive injection of liberal bias into 85% of this sites articles. YOU CAN WRITE A PIECE AND LEAVE YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS OUT OF IT!
Of course neither side can just say “we need to agree to send cash relief to our citizens, amounts based on (insert criteria)”, and end it there. Both sides have to add 10000 other items to argue over.
