I come from the nuclear industry. That industry has redundant systems to redundant systems. I sort of automatically assume that the local hospital has extra rooms and beds they can open up for an emergency, TSA has a lot of extra ways to screen people in the case of something weird happening, and that grocery stores

You’ll keep your mouth shut about toilet paper if you know what’s good for you.

Any choke points make our infrastructure a laughingstock. We should have done better, but at the same time I don’t know how much excess/idle capacity CBP or TSA have sitting around at any given time.

The flu kills thousands every year and we don’t shut down the country for that.

I don’t see the point in completely stopping life unless:

I’m actually looking at this from the opposite perspective. I’m working from home until further notice and am planning on a much-needed wheel bearing replacement on my track car so I can drive it again now that it’s not snowy out anymore. I’m looking at this time at home as a way to work on things I haven’t been home

Hey!  I have a tent in MY backyard... can I work for Tesla too?

5th gear: “Volvo has established a goal that says by 2020, no one would be killed or seriously injured a new Volvo. “  They are trying to follow Elio, which hasn’t had a person die in one of their cars in years.

I made a list...so we good?

This generation of Explorer is why so many older millennials spent years thinking a Honda Civic is a sports car.

Really missed the chance to charge $1,997 for it.... just saying.

I understand what you’re saying, but that’s not the question.  The question is whether this car is worth it.  $2K for a rust free 4WD is nice price all day!

It’s like finding a great price on a casket: you know it makes sense to buy it because you have to, but there is something that just prevents it from being a joyous occasion — this being you drive around in something that will depress any driving experience.

CP: You can get a 5.0 version for the same price. And if you can have a V8, you get the V8.

If I was a Lyft/Uber driver I would switch to Doordash/Grubhub right away. There will be way more demand for take-out food and way less demand for taxis (a lot of taxi rides are to the airport, or to restaurants and bars- and all these destinations will be hard hit by the coronavirus)

And don’t forget to throw a little extra in for the culinary team and dishwashers.”
