Very good point. I agree 100%. I don’t think we’ve seen ONE character go from “good” to “evil” in SW (EU or not) and had it work. In fact most of them seem to have failed drastically. The Sith Solo-Skywalker in the EU was laughable. Perhaps the best they’ve ever done was with that one jedi who fell in love with...

I bring that up because unlike a lot of people commenting I’ve fought this fight for years. I was a social progressive after living in Norway and seeing the benefit of socialist governments first hand. I truly believe it could work in America. However, that’s not going to happen over night... and Bernie was not our

That’s funny, you blame it on the centrists... when I would argue that it’s thanks to the centrists we still have a country today.

Hey there. Would you like me to introduce you to a history book? Because I can and will.

That’s pretty much the main concept of Star Wars right there. No evil doer goes unpunished. Literally every single one of them dies as the consequence of their evil decisions. The only people who make evil acts who survive are those who apologize and make reparations. (Like Lando)

I just gotta say I read his tweets for the first time (I’m never on twitter) and he is hilarious, honest, and adorable. I love me M.H.

Oof. This review is painful to read. I can just imagine SNL is even worse.

See I loved Mark Hamil as a kid but didn’t like him when I grew up (rewatching the OT and seeing his terrible acting... ehh).

Hey guys...

Hardcore fanboys will be torn between HATING it and loving it, I can’t see a long time fan walking away neutral from this film... too much happens for neutrality. Those who hated on TFA for being too ANH (but liked the characters/actors overall) will LOVE IT. Those who have an open mind and like scifi stuff will LOVE

I just spent days arguing with you on another post, but even there we mostly kept our cool. AVclub is many things (pretentious, a little sanctimonious, etc) but at least its not the troll-fest some review sites have become. I used to be a regular at IGN and now their posts are I shit you not 50% REY is a mary sue and

That last scene was so inspiring to me. I dont have kids but I have nieces and nephews. I hope that scene inspires them too. What inspired me is I’m starting a new track (getting involved in politics, trying to make the world a bit better day by day) and I literally felt like I was the jedi there at the end.

I like that.

I love this mini-review. I just saw the film and thought it was fantastic. I understand a lot of people are going to complain about what it did with some of its heroes, and others will complain that the few moments of intersperse levity Disneyfy the film (of course those people ignore all the humorous parts of ESB,

Rebels is Canon and wasn’t EU.

they missed their target, found someone else, that someone betrayed them and all they did was waste time. In fact, they (and Poe) are very lucky to be alive... and Poe sending them off was reckless and insubordinate. Brave, and done for the right reasons... but in the wrong way. I hope he stays demoted.

Other then... Anakin Skywalker? Palpatine? Padme? Obi-Wan? Han Solo? Lando? Chewbacca? Wait. Wait.

Oh I’ve seen EVERYTHING with historical battles except for... oh, 95% of china’s historical movies which are a pain for me. (I like some, but most of them are ridiculously complex for movie length)

They feel very similar to me. The same slapstick style humor, one is just more aimed to adults.

At least one now, Deadpool 2.
