I made the mistake (at work) of criticizing people who buy 100 plastic water bottles a week by saying how ridiculous and wasteful it was/is.

Absolutely. The order is reduce, reuse, recycle. Recycle is the last resort. We should all be reducing the amount of waste we generate first, then reusing what we can, then finally recycling anything left.

How about people just stop buying beverages in disposable plastic bottles? We have a few Nalgene bottles and bring them everywhere. It’s incredibly rare that we buy bottled water at all. For other beverages we almost always buy in aluminum or glass which are more valuable as a recyclable. For foods it’s definitely…

My apologies if this sounds too harsh but as a former ED doctor (admittedly in Australia, hence the ED not ER), I hope there’s a special place in Hell for people who say you can just go to the ED (ER) - starting with GW Bush (also for all the other bad things he did).

That sucks. And it’s so stupid - even ignoring the moral and medical angles, doesn’t preventative care save money in the long run?  

And nothing of value was lost. You can’t really complain about the loss of “value” when that peak valuation was insane and unjustified in the first place.
