I feel very bad for the great writers here during this uncertainty, but I don’t think that ridiculously large judgement can stand, on appeal. The original incident deserves censure, but to that extent? I’m doubtful.

I can’t imagine the courts wouldn’t lower the judgement but it’ll probably still be a crippling amount.

Most likely they are saying nothing on the advice of counsel. It would be poor legal strategy to say anything at this time.

The ones who tip well are usually those who have experienced not having money before. My brother is a bartender at a nice restaurant and man have I seen some country club looking kids skimp on the tip.

I’d really like for these people to explain to me how someone else having rights impedes on your rights? Religious conservatives seem to believe that not having 100% of what they want when they want it is discrimination. I think if she'd jumped in to the ring early I doubt Bernie would have even run at all. If he manages to pull a hat trick and get the nomination, she ought to be at the top of his short list for Veep candidates. She'd likely decline but he still ought to ask anyway. I read a fascinating article in The Atlantic about how this all really happened because President Obama shook Raul Castro’s hand at Nelson Mandela’s funeral. I had no idea Mandela and the Castro brothers were friends, nor how much Cuba supported the Anti-Apartheid movement.
