No.

Was just about to post the same thing. Sorry William, you missed the deadline!

I finished Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance this week, which was a blast, and towards the end I felt as if I was even sort of getting good at playing it. Mastery of the combat is definitely it’s own reward, but the ludicrous plot is definitely welcome. If you want a game that is as comfortable discussing global

Always a great writing technique that, leaving important plot points out for people to buy later.

Maybe zombie games aren’t selling as well as the used to? It’s been 16 years since 28 days later came out, 12 years since Dead Rising, and in the mean time it’s been zombies wall to wall- Left 4 Dead, Day Z, Plants Vs Zombies, ZombieU, Dying Light, The Walking Dead... and those are just the ones I can think of that

But there are so many games out there that have that variable interval reward and are actually fun to play! Perhaps it’s because the drops are new guns rather than new hats. Or maybe it’s just nostalgia for Halo?

I’ve also been playing Celeste on and off- It’s a lot of fun, but I have to say I dropped my plan to collect all the strawberries pretty early on. Some are a real headache to get to, and it does explicitly say you’re not going to miss out on anything if you don’t get them. And it’s hard enough as it is- it’s up there

I decided to pick up Destiny 2, as it was the new Humble Monthly bundle unlock.

I didn’t find the game too difficult, but I didn’t quite gel with the story and themes as many of those here did. Maybe the Philosophy of Mind stuff would be more profound if I was encountering it for the first time; as it is, I got that stuff out of the way at A-level and University, and I don’t have forty hours and

How’s Durham these days? Went to University there, not been up in ages. (Enfield is doing ok, or at least the Ikea is, beyond the traveller encampment in the car park)

Sounds great- I wonder if I’ll be any better at it than I am with real chess (read: not very)

Ah, Podracer. Definitely worth a go, but I remember it being disappointingly easy. Also as I recall it does that Star Wars Game thing of having the John Williams score on *all the time*. It’s probably mandated in a style-guide somewhere, and it’s a great score, but a bit of a break now and then would be welcome.

Spelunky isn’t my favourite game ever, but it’s definitely one of the best.

I finished Far Cry 5 this week. I won’t be going back.

Toby Jones was in the Whippin’ Piccadilly video? Captain America was a definite step-down for him.

I can imagine that would be a problem- this game does the experience of being on top of a very high building extremely well. The finale is probably the best example of it too- a huge, highly risky climb up a massive building. What other games have you had issues with, out of interest?

Well last night I finished Dying Light, which was great but somewhat over-long. Towards the end the hoard of zombies became more tiresome than threatening, particularly when fighting the special ones who have extra health, or any that you couldn’t just run past. On top of that, the final boss fight takes the form of a

Given that World War 3 is around five to ten, minutes away, it’s nice that the game ends in the same way the real world will, and that what people have been doing up until they experience both is playing Far Cry 5.

I started playing Dying Light last weekend, a game that I’d had in my Steam account for ages but never quite gotten more than an hour into. It’s really quite good! After you get over the initial glut of exposition it opens up and just lets you get on with it, and all the bits that are supposed to work - free-running,

Can totally understand burning out on Into The Breach- it’s fantastic, but once you’ve tried out a few of the squads and had a win with each there’s not a huge incentive to do it again, unless you’re looking for bonus points on Reddit or something. I do like how they’ve managed to create so many different play-styles
