Nothing, at least until they also make their tools with the same Bluetooth capabilities. Currently this just seems to aim to prevent theft of the batteries themselves, but I really doubt that's gonna deter people from taking it if they're in the position to be able to do so.

I imagine that there’s an option to disable the batteries the instant they’re out of Bluetooth range. So no need to manually disable it, they just do it themselves once they can't connect to your phone.
