The FTL drives won't get them very far, and they'll run out of fuel very quickly regardless. Also, the relays are the only way to cover the vast distances between systems. And while the citadel was cut off as an entering point for the reapers, they still entered the galaxy through the relays.

I realize that it melds organic and non organic structure, but that doesn't clarify exacty what that will mean. Do they still need to eat? Are they like the geth in terms of a hive mind? There is still a lot that needs to be clarified in order for it to really make sense

I am absolutely sick of people disregarding exactly *why* fans are upset over the ending. We aren't just "entitled whiners." There are serious issues with the ending that go beyond just personal preference for how the game should have ended.
