As a happily slutty person who believes sex workers deserve respect, health care and benefits, I am perfectly comfortable with Corset’s use of the title (not term) “Whore” as applied to Melania. It’s not a reclamation attempt, it’s calling a spade a spade, and it this context I consider it gender neutral.

I agree. These people do so many different things that you can legitimately hate on, but the personal stuff just seems unnecessary and makes us all look just as bad as the people who called Michelle Obama a gorilla or a man or whatever garbage they were thinking for years. My brother-in-law and his wife are reeeeally into Hillsong. Their lives revolve around it. Feels very cult-ish.

“Jews for Jesus” is an organization that needs to be set on fire. They’re disgusting.

Pratt has always been on the conservative side of Christianity. He worked for evangelical front group “Jews for Jesus” when he was younger. He was never actually Andy Dwyer OR Starlord. People just mistook a change in physique for a positive personality trait.

i thought Chris Pratt was an insufferable git before it was cool. It didn’t surprise me at all to find out he was Christ Trash, he’s got the same know-it-all smarm as Kirk Cameron.

What’s interesting to me about this is that Hillsong Church, as a Protestant denomination, has been getting criticized for decades for a huge variety of things. It started in Australia in the ‘80s and got hugely popular about 15 or 20 years ago with Evangelicals in the U.S.…

Colbert is a practicing Catholic and as I recall, the Catholic Church, despite the current pope, isn’t exactly gay friendly either.

I love me some Marina Sirtis, but DS9 is objectively the best Star Trek series, and I assume there will be no nitpicky debating on this subject to follow.

I rewatched all of TNG a few years back and was surprised how much I enjoyed Troi. They didn’t always give her much to do (and why is there a therapist on the bridge of a starship?) but she’s such a warm presence on the show. And when she did get a chance to do something deeper, like Dark Page, she delivered on it.
