Breaks my heart to see tourists on the Michigan Ave. bridge taking photos with Trump’s building as the background.

Same! You can actually see it from both my job in Lincoln Park and from the Fullerton station. If I don’t flip it off, I glare at it. I don’t even consciously do it to be funny or clever. It’s just a visceral, automatic thing.
Ha! I flip the bird at the Trump building here in Chicago whenever I have the displeasure to pass by it. Totally soulless lump of architecture.
Is that sorta like having a Grail-Shaped Beacon? Because if memory serves me Castle Anthrax sounds like a pretty sweep place to get into some peril.
I remain stunned that there are people who cannot manage to use a shot glass of sunscreen to cover their entire body. WTF are these people doing? I use that much on my arms.
Oh yeah, I’m well familiar with dibs, I just genuinely didn’t know if it was a thing in black neighborhoods. Chicago being one of the nation’s most segregated metropolitan areas, a lot of the culture of black areas of the city absolutely does not make its way into white areas, and vice versa. (Unlike in New York,…
I turn 37 in a few months, I guess I better start looking at walkers and walk-in bathtubs.
Like many white people from the rural south raised by Republicans, I primarily align with Democratic Socialist policies and positions. I’m 33 years old. I remember 1998 – the lynching year, Matthew Shepherd and James Byrd, Jr. Columbine happened during my Freshman year of high school. How safe are today’s children…
“Let us pause here for a moment and give thanks once again to those brave voices of The Left who would not be cowed by the extortionate pleadings of Hillary Rodham Clinton to remember the importance of the Supreme Court while casting their precious vanity ballots in November of 2016. Well done, dilettantes.” - Charlie…
I seriously hope Kim is mistaken that the state of CA would let someone with only a high school education work for an attorney for three years and then take the bar exam, especially since CA has arguably the most difficult bar exam in the country. I graduated law school last month and almost every minute of my free…
Men get to ‘have it all’ (education/career/money/family/property) because they traditionally rely on others to do the actual work (wives, secretaries/assistants, junior staff, maids/cooks/gardeners/nannies etc). Women tend to be doing all that and trying to work at the same level as men, without the same support…
Actresses devoid of charisma who benefited from nepotism?
Chance is the epitome of a stand-up guy. I love that dude.
Chance has done way more for poor kids in Chicago than Kanye can dream of. Thanks for covering Chance here!
Yup —- I grew up with a 2 acre avocado orchard in our backyard, so we had them almost every day when in season (which is almost year round, if you have enough different varieties). Nobody I knew tried to take the pit out with a knife. You just pop them out with your finger, or use a small spoon. Heck, if you don’t…
I am grinning so big after watching that video of those kids completely losing their minds over Donald Glover coming out. I am too old to even know that song, but I was singing right along with them.
