Nah Drew wanted to take on stage 3 at 100%. He’s never gotten through it so it was a big moment for him and he was laser focused on it. I think if anything NBC wanted him in more than one stage for ratings/story angle since he was the captain.

This is a yearly special they do as a team competition, not the actual Ninja Warrior season. It used to be just USA vs. Japan and then a couple of years ago they brought in a European team and changed the name to USA vs. The World. This year Japan wasn’t there and they had a Latin American team instead.

Someone has gotten the wrong envelope before. Back in the 60s Sammy Davis Jr was given the envelope for the next category by mistake. It was for one of the music awards so not quite as major.

It’s not even the first time it’s happened. Sammy Davis Jr. was given the envelope for the next award to be presented back in the 60s. It will happen again eventually. Sometimes things just happen. Thankfully the producers zoomed out on stage to correct the matter as soon as they realized what happened.
