If the right teacher is in place (and you sound like that kind of educator) there are so many ways to approach an important discussion on what society is, what we value (or don’t) and whether society has a duty to lift up (or ignore) those who struggle. When these discussions are not had, the result is a large portion…
Or it will encourage them to understand the system and choose to vote for candidates who present real ideas about how to switch up government policy and the mechanics of how current government operates.
A great service to youth would be to help educate them in the way the government works in a manner that is engaging. Not a textbook full of dates and facts but something that helps them understand the stakes. Also how the courts works. And finally, why it is important for all citizens to vote - up and down the ticket.
