So where I live, everyone automatically receives a notice in their name sent to their address many weeks before an election. It also assigns you a specific polling station. When you go to the designated polling station on election day, you present your notice and a piece of ID (passport, health card, drivers license…

So then I assume that they have easily identifiable staff out there who monitor the lines and cut the line off at the appropriate time?

Best course of action is to stay away from all of them.
