Yeah, I’m wondering what happens when I disable my ad blocker, switch to this new Chrome service and, say, come back to Gizmodo. Will I get a popup that says “Hey, please switch to a new browser because Google blocks ads that we need to pay the bills?”

Bellator is basically a non-factor. They occasionally do a million or more viewers for a freakshow fight, but their week-in, week-out ratings are not great.

They do. Except the PPVs are on a month delay, unlike WWE where they are live. UFC would be crazy to adopt the WWE Network model, though, because even 100,000 buy PPVs are still profitable.

That’s entirely fair, considering we’ve seen a few recent examples of fighters refusing to do media because they’re not getting paid extra for it and are having to break camp for it.

Good piece. Two additional thoughts:

Yes. That’s not a perfect model either, but it’s a start.

I really wish software companies would move beyond the numbered/named releases for their products and just work on the ongoing, continual improvement of their products, period. And sometimes that will involve new features and sometimes it won’t. Like, why does Apple have to launch a splashy new iOS *every September*?

You’re getting way too much hate mail in the comments. I liked the review - well written, well thought out and well argued. I don’t agree with all of it, but, it’s a TV review. Hardly worth fighting over.

Gboard has a workaround for that now.

You’re very welcome. Hope that gives you what you want in Swiftkey.

I just put SwiftKey back on my iPhone to give it another whirl, and it appears to now have clipboard support...? Press the smiley emoji next to the keyboard and you’ll get three options: Next keyboard, Clipboard, Emoji

Good piece. Thanks for doing that. I’m a big fan of Gboard because of the one-handed glide typing option that it’s just added. And Swiftkey is, as you’ve noted, the best at predictive typing.

Superman snapping his enemies’ necks? But that would never hap-oh, wait.

Agreed, and that’s an entirely fair point. But I think Marvel and DC have effectively shown that you basically have to ignore canon more often than not or reboot your universe, so to speak, otherwise, you’re stuck with the story-telling choices that one writer in one comic in 1953 bound your character to forever and

There is no such thing as objectivity when doing a review - reviews are inherently subjective because what one person likes and doesn’t like is inextricably bound up in their personality, experiences and biases.

As someone who is very much enjoying the season and loved last night’s show, I’m legitimately sorry that you are not, but, fair enough. Not everyone is going to like everything. Nonetheless, as a rage-quit review goes, this one was quite enjoyable.

The Lorca reveal was awesome. I cackled on my couch. Discovery may actually be my favourite show this TV season.

I use Checker Plus for Google Calendar and while it doesn’t “integrate” Gmail and G-Calendar, it at least provides some easier access to your calendar all around on the web.

If it is as terrible as the rumour mill suggests, Disney should just eat its losses and kill the movie.

Based on the C3PO info, I’m assuming Han and Chewie were introduce at a party by Darth Vader.
