I had no idea that they were connected, thanks for the correction. A couple of my American friends were Girl Scouts, and their experiences were quite different from what we have up here, so I never would have guessed that the two organizations were related.

In Canada it’s just Scouts and everybody is welcome. For those who want a girls-only thing, we also have Girl Guides (an awesome organization). It’s been this eay for ages, and it seems to work for everyone.

Movies rarely measure up to the books, so, whenever possible, I watch the movie first. If it’s a good movie, I can enjoy it on its own merits, and then if the book is better (which is usually the case), I get to enjoy that too. Sort of a win-win rather than a win-wow-that-was-a-disappointment.
