The modern GOP loves to use the “this will raise costs for average Americans” talking point… while conveniently leaving out that all of their own policies raise long term costs for average Americans by shifting the burden from the rich donor class to the “average American”.
It’s a cool theory, but you know at some point some asshole is going to come along and either steal that cable outright or just disconnect it to be a dick.
Kind of remarkable that they made the RWD-based 5-series look like the FWD-based 2-series. That side profile has some serious FWD vibes. the BMW design team is just collecting success after success...
Sheesh, I saw the lede image and thought it was the 2-series Sedan. Same basic shape, upsized and with fewer linear surfaces:
E39 was peak 5 series, in my opinion.
Jeez it looks so frumpy and generic. It looks tall, narrow, and bubbly rather than long, wide, low, and sleek. From the front, it looks straight up like a CUV.
Modern BMW design language is the best thing that has ever happened (and continues happening) to competing automakers.
It really isn’t that ugly at all ...
The issue with those lease deals is that PHEV/EV residuals are falling off a cliff and money factors are still high so that $7500 cap cost reduction is just off setting those bad variables by a little bit...for the most part the leases still kinda stink, but there are some exceptions.
I’m good with this. Take it to a track, Jack.
They scrapped that. Right now these are only available via standard leasing, but MSRP starts at $50,200 per the VinFast website.
Do you still have to lease the battery in perpetuity? Because that’s kind of an automatic disqualifier even if all this other stuff wasn’t already.
Not a lot of people do have that kind of cash. Thus we get into crazy debt for a depreciating asset, or we don’t get one. Catering to a rather small market is part of the problem with these companies’ business models.
Not going to make a reddit login but will drop these here.
And in some cases, mainly with EVs, I think some automakers are overplaying their hand on the amount of people who want to drop big bucks on an EV. Take Hyundai for instance. Hyundai still makes cheap cars like the Venue and Elantra, but dealers dont have many. My local Hyundai dealer has just 7 Elantras.
Dealers stocking only high end cars, Manufactures only making high end models. They both say “see people are not buying lower priced cars”
I LIVE within a few kilometres of where this happened.
A couple of things to consider:
• This is a low socio-economic area with racial and other factors playing a part in problems that affect the community.
• There is a youth crime plague resulting from the above.
A lot of the crime involves car theft, subsequent police…
Over 10 years or so, the VW will probably make up that $6k deficit in repairs versus a Honda.
If you can FIND one that is. The GR or the Civic R
