I’ve never used a Dyno myself, I’m assuming the drive ratio is needed to calculate engine RPM? That would definitely change the HP curve. But with modern cars able to provide that data right from the ECU, I’m having a hard time imagining why the final drive ratio would make a difference?

Changing a gear ratio or tire size doesn’t change horsepower. I would think this power change is a result of the wheel moment of inertia increasing or slippage on the rollers due to the heavy tire lug.
