What the hell hit that chopper in the last pic? RPG?

The danger is...if the rear gear ‘hooked’ on anything at ALL, as soon as they tried to lift off again, it would have pivoted the aircraft around the part where they were hooked, and they would have been inverted and in the sea before they could drop power again. It would have been totally uncontrollable.

The result would have been the same had any aircraft landed like that. The aircraft has to be removed and thoroughly inspected to make sure the damage isn’t worse than it looks because even a minor impact in a place that isn’t designed to be impacted could cause significant damage (for any aircraft)

“If Ospreys are that weak, they should have zero place as an operational aircraft.”

You obviously don’t realize how delicate aircraft are.

The chance of it vibrating off the deck before the rotors get to speed.

Wrong.

It’s important to acknowledge that Gawker (and some Jalopnik writers) are in fact liberal activists. This is fine, as long as everyone recognizes that fact. Gawker is most certainly not a journalistic endeavour.

Ok, out of all the things that have been said on this website...this angers me the most. I love the WS6. I thought it always looked and performed better than it’s Chevy counterpart, and with the right mods, was an absolute beast.

Genuine question, since you might know the answer:

Not necessarily. Some of us like to buy these older luxury cars not because of budget constraints, but because they have this class and subtlety that newer luxury cars don’t have anymore. For example, I could afford a new BMW with my income, but I chose to buy an E39 540i6 because a) it’s available with a stick, b) it

The Lexus is a very nice, although very different, car. If you are looking for massive power, you have to look at Euro cars.

I know what a shocker right?!? I mean, the original msrp was around $122,000 which is around $154,000 adjusted for inflation, but, parts should totally cost as much as a “regular” car...

And the P-3 Orion (developed more or less from Lockheed’s L-188).

Can I used this as an excuse to post a picture of a turboprop DC-3? Because seriously, turboprop DC-3. (Technically a Basler BT-67)

Tyler is absolutely right to use FLAK:
