Nahhhh Curiosity is much more complicated... MSL will use retrorockets to completely stop And hover a platform in mid-air and then lower the rover via a literal skyhook. The Russians are just using the rockets to slow the descent.

IMHO this is a cakewalk compared to how NASA is going to put MSL (Curiosity) down on Mars. Just saying.
