Possibly. My line of thinking was this:

But Andrea Dworkin is at least an actual second wave feminist. Roiphe is a Camille Paglia wanna-be third wave “feminist” if anything.

Brava!

Exactly. Katie Roiphe was detested by feminists when her stupid Morning After rape book came out. Also, her career began during the Third Wave in the 90s. This is like claiming Ivanka Trump as an example of Millennial Feminism.

And everyone has always hated Katie Roiphe.

I’ve always defined third-wavers as the ones who let legislatures erode our abortion rights so they could talk about how much they liked porn, but that’s probably not what you’re looking for.

“The majority of women in the workplace are not tender creatures and are largely adept at dealing with all varieties of uncomfortable or hostile situations,” Roiphe wrote in the New York Timesin 2011. “Show me a smart, competent young professional woman who is utterly derailed by a verbal unwanted sexual advance or

Wow. Thank you for posting this. Very moving and I’m sure so many women reading that knew exactly what she was talking about regarding the shame and angry for not doing more at the time of the assault and after. This is what men don’t understand. That women so often freeze. It’s not because it’s okay it’s because

I always felt exactly like you. I’m a strong-ass woman! Why would I feel bad because someone else did something wrong?

Yeah, that was something I wondered too. Out of the women in this story, Melania is the one I feel the least sorry for because she undoubtedly had some inkling of what she was getting in to. But it does showcase the variety of ways Trump treats the women in his life like shit.

I felt a bit sorry for Melania when the two women ran into each other, and she was like, “Why don’t you stop by any more?” I’m sure she knew what she was getting into with being a trophy wife, but that comment just seemed so sad.

The fact that women routinely rationalize this shit to themselves and second guess themselves is part of the privilege enjoyed by men in general, and powerful men like Donald Trump in particular. I don’t blame her in the least; in the real world she occupied, her reaction is rational self-preservation. It sucks that

She explains the vertigo and self doubt that it caused her extremely well. I thought it was poignant that she felt relieved when she heard the leaked tapes, because she could be sure it wasn’t her fault.

This story is the most hideous so far. The part about him telling the reporter they’d have an affair right before super preggo Melania walked back in and then switching to being a “doting” husband... ugh ugh ugh ugh.

It’s hilarious. Pre-debate, MSNBC was running a clip of Trump from 1999 or some such time of him complaining how hard divorce is, and how unfair Hillary Clinton’s critics were being too her, and how tough she is to have to do this in the public. lol

It’s almost like there was a time when Trump was vocally pro-Clinton....

Why the fuck have their been 10,000 people in the media analyzing Hillary’s every throat-clear and cough, yet no one is looking into this sniffing? The sniffing and his whole demeanor tonight screamed coke to me.

I’m can’t wait for Nov. 9th. I can’t wait for this to all be over.

Two things:
