I liked him more when I heard less about him...
This is a nice reminder to never let some tool derail a convo surrounding #metoo with the bullshit about the man’s career. Not even a full year in time out and he’s getting standing o’s.
The actress is so good, the flash lasted for mere seconds, but when she said “I’m incorrigible too, only Mama doesn’t know it.” I was like, ding ding ding we have a sociopath on our hands, people.
Shock? Twist? I knew it was Amma by the third episode. And I didn’t cheat. The signs of her evil nature are there if you know where to look. Just feel good about the fact that you’ve not been exposed to people like this enough to recognize them.
While yes, I get that’s the nature of a twist, there were very few, if any, warning signs, and the scope of Amma’s murderous streak was wide enough to warrant more explanation than conjecture.
It’s unsatisfying because it’s a bad book with a bad ending, second only to Dark Places on the Gillian Flynn pantheon of lazy writing and improbable twists. To begin with, I can’t really stand when a murder mystery divides the culprits to hedge bets on a viewer catching on. Sure, a twist can be unexpected when it’s…
I guessed Amma was the killer in the first episode. Everything about her personality and behavior indicated sociopathy. It all made perfect sense in the last 2 episodes when the poisoning was revealed. I have a new love for Amy Adams. Her darkness was enthralling. I’m just glad I stayed through the closing credits and…
I don’t mind red herrings.
I don’t agree with this take. I’ve never read the book and felt like it was pretty obvious that Amma was capable of the murders. She indicated that her friends would do anything for her, she’s manipulative and cruel often, and her motive is strengthened throughout the series. Think Calhoun day when she stops receiving…
If you did not suspect Amma, you weren’t paying close enough attention to her and her friends.
As a completely defeated and broken Gen-Xer, one of my only bright spots in life is seeing today’s youth doing their thing. They will save us all.
Yaaaassss Loan, yaaaaassss.
I dunno. When I was in rehab a LOT of people went through divorces while still drinking because their spouse was sick of their shit. I think giving him the chance to be fully present for the matter is a favor. I’m sure she’d like to move on earlier rather than later, plus as someone else pointed out he’ll get MORE…
Aaaaaaaaa! So tempted to spam the comment section with her videos!

I’d have far less to say if one party involved wasn’t barely 18 when the relationship began. But yes, they seem happy.
I just want to know what a 19-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man talk about.
I was on Jeopardy once. One of the answers was “this proverbial piece of furniture used to help aspiring actresses land movie roles” or something. I, a 26-year-old man, only knew “casting couch” from porn and was absolutely not going to say that and become an immediate disgrace to my family. That, of course, was the…
If the ceremony didn’t begin with:
Honestly, I’m my heritage is Irish and half of my cousins are Italian and the whole lot of them (the Irish Americans/Italian Americans) are racist as hell.
