Shock? Twist? I knew it was Amma by the third episode. And I didn’t cheat. The signs of her evil nature are there if you know where to look. Just feel good about the fact that you’ve not been exposed to people like this enough to recognize them.

While yes, I get that’s the nature of a twist, there were very few, if any, warning signs, and the scope of Amma’s murderous streak was wide enough to warrant more explanation than conjecture.

It’s unsatisfying because it’s a bad book with a bad ending, second only to Dark Places on the Gillian Flynn pantheon of lazy writing and improbable twists.
