I don’t know what list you’re referencing but the one that I saw had police officers at #14, so that’s not “pretty far down” the list, considering there are over 800 types of occupations in America. The deaths caused by the other jobs on the list, like loggers and roofers were mostly accidents, not being murdered.

There are too many police shootings of civilians in America. There are too many cops who are killed on duty in America. There are too many guns in America. It’s a dangerous job.

The police are too reliant on using deadly force these days, especially against people who are obviously unarmed or even people holding a weapon that isn’t a gun. That being said, If someone is holding a gun and an officer doesn’t know if it’s real or a toy, they can’t really take the chance. I know I wouldn’t.
