I agree. We should teach our children not to bully and to be accepting of all kinds of people. I guess I just don’t have faith that humanity, as a whole, is capable of attaining such enlightenment. I’m a lot less optimistic about our ability to improve as a species than I used to be.

Bob Dorough’s songs (as well as those written by Lynn Ahrens, George Newall and others) are forever ingrained in the memory of an entire generation. Those songs were unique for childrens’ music in that they were smart and very catchy.

In a perfect world that’s true, but there will always be assholes. People, kids especially, will always find something to make fun of a person for. There is a certain amount of toughness we need to get through life. For the record, I do think that Apu should go away.
