Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke had a baby? I never even knew that they dated. She looks a lot like her mom.

Things has changed ‘round the ol’ A.V. Club. Some would say for the worse. Me, for example.

Paul Thomas Anderson has never won an Oscar for best director. Neither did Stanley Kubrick or Alfred Hitchcock. Kevin Costner and Mel Gibson have both won Oscars for best director. Interesting.

Tarantino’s whole career has been retroactively shat upon at Jezebel.

Those are some excellent points. My only real experience with anime comes from the old Voltron shows in the 80s (if that even counts). I had no idea of the disparities in the voice actors of Japan and the U.S.

I never realized how goddamned funny Andy Daly is until I started listening to Comedy Bang Bang.

I don’t really see why subs are better than dubs in animation. Live action I can understand because you want to hear the voices of the actors you see on screen. With anime, it seems like if you have quality English speaking voice actors saying the lines as written it wouldn’t depreciate the work.

Throw in a few witty comments or even some comments that are actually on-topic.

I seem to recall his posts from a few months ago being more right-leaning. I would assume he’s fishing for likes.

Those are some pretty solid picks except for Lionel Richie. I would have thrown in Donny Hathaway.

That’s a great album.

That place was great. La Zona Rosa and Liberty Lunch too. Fun times...

I’ll never forget my Jr. High health teacher, who was a coach and yes, a lesbian, say the word “testes”.

Man, I was just thinking about this band earlier today. They were a favorite of mine for a long time and I got to see them at the Electric Lounge in Austin in 1997. In fact, the only fan letter I ever wrote was to them, asking for advice on how to get a band started. They sent me a hand written response that was very
