I haven’t watched the second season yet. I hate-watched the first one out of boredom and I don’t know that I can handle any more of it. And Che is absolutely, 100% the worst part of that show, and that’s saying a lot since pretty much every other character is insufferable.

I think the speculation is inevitable when you’ve got a high profile case with inconsistencies that are obvious from the start, and at a time when people have never been more into true crime ... the police’s cryptic non-replies and the fact that they pretty much said right away they weren’t actively looking for a kid

A lot of people said this was fishy from the start. I was late to the story and by the time I read about it, the focus seemed to be on whether or not she was faking it.

They’re also terrified of change which doesn’t exactly lend itself to creativity and innovation.

The homewrecker stereotype exists regardless of race, though, and women blaming other women for their men cheating on them is a tale as old as time. I don’t see how race plays a role  here any more than it did in the Angelina Jolie/Brad Pitt/Jennifer Aniston scandal or, more recently, Scandoval, where it became more

Misogynoir? I don’t see how it’s racial. Women have been blaming other women for their men cheating since forever. “Homewrecker” never refers to the married man who cheats on his wife. It’s dumb, it’s irrational, it’s internalized misogyny, etc., etc... But racist? I hate this whole family but it seems like Jezebel

“Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license,” a rep for Hadid told E! News on Tuesday. “It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017.”

I can see how that would be disruptive to both performer and other people in the audience but I’m giving you a star for making me laugh, and because Miranda Lambert sucks.

This piece makes the movie sound a lot more interesting than it was.

I think the reason tabloids push this is because in general, people do seem to have a weird fascination with celebrity children. And with other people’s children in general. Like, it’s just assumed that if I just met someone or I’m making small talk at work or at an event, that I’m supposed to care about other

Thank you. But given the author I’m not surprised by the hot take making a connection with Dobbs even though this took place in California and state laws haven’t changed.

I think the point is they’re unreasonable for claiming she’ll kill again. I think the families should be honest and say what they mean: that what she did was so bad she doesn’t deserve to get out. Rather than saying she poses a threat if she’s released, which it’s pretty clear she doesn’t.

You said it yourself: feeling. The justice system is supposed to take decisions based on facts, not emotions, and it sounds like they did in this case.

That’s what her family should say then. It’s clear they, and you and other commenters who have posted to that effect, are having a very emotional reaction to her release and think that what she did is so bad she doesn’t deserve to ever get out.

So you essentially just wrote a manifesto to say that it’s ok for a guy to impose a rule that says he gets to approve the friends his girlfriend hangs out with and what she wears, that it isn’t abusive and that those types of things are allowed in relationships?

The worst part about this coming out has been the number of people (and not just men!) showing their asses defending his behavior and refusing to recognize it as manipulative and emotionally abusive. It’s fucking terrifying but sadly not surprising.

I think a lot of therapy speak is used to enable narcissism, not just of the controlling, emotionally abusive, misogynistic type Jonah Hill exhibited, but in general.

Thanks!

Is Jezebel going to cover Jonah Hill’s textgate? So far only AV Club have covered it and that comments section is a trash heap of idiots saying Jonah did nothing wrong when those text messages are textbook coercive control and emotional abuse with a bunch of misused therapy speak.

Don’t take my word for it. Here’s what a doctor and expert on domestic abuse had to say about it.
