Hell, my 1988 Camry has 300,000 miles on it and still runs like a champ, never had to do any major work to it, (the odometer stopped working @ 255,000.) It definitely helps if you know how to work on your own car, even just general maintenance.

Actually, my mac recognizes my ubuntu thinkpad automatically on the network, and vice versa. But that is the great thing about linux, there's a flavor for everyone ;)
Yep, Ubuntu. I've been fooling around with linux for years, primarily just trying to use it at all. The latest version of Ubuntu is hands down, the easiest version of linux to use. I have not messed with fedora for a couple years, I may have to take another look......
Still think MediaMonkey is best for managing a large collection and syncing your iPod. It does EVERYTHING I need it to do; now if only MM would go cross platform.....I have Parallels installed on my Mac just so I can still use it, well, that and Picasa....
I gotta agree with many others who have posted here: pretty is nice, but something that works is better. Hardware problems and ease of use being the main concerns for me. Personally, I'm able to figure out how to do stuff in Linux (kudos to Ubuntu for making Linux a bit easier,) and if I can't, I know where to find…
