Well, the rich aren’t buying their own cars, their self incorporated shells are.

Okay, so let’s start at the beginning here.

The bike routinely lied to you about range, especially on your steep uphill mountain pass...”

Gas cars and bikes do this, too. There is no way to accurately calculate range unless you can plug in wind speed, route with elevation gain, exact speed, whether you’re sitting in

Well, anything else would be highly illegal, so I sure hope so.

Also “NV Energy’s northern Nevada operating company achieved a 33.6 percent renewable energy and renewable energy credit level, and southern Nevada achieved a 20.2 percent renewable portfolio standard.”

For sure. My town just added 6 Tesla chargers at a gas station, and on the community facebook page people are actually mad about it. Complaining about a waste of tax dollars, waste of space since no one uses it, etc etc. It’s disheartening, and these people are a huge roadblock towards helping to embrace the electric

There’s a reason so many chargers are in office parks.  They’re out there by business owners that need them for themselves.  I know someone that had one installed at his business after he bought a Tesla. He got a tax incentive for having it installed.

I pay NV Energy extra every month to power my house entirely on renewable energy, hydro, solar, geothermal, and wind.

My home heat, hot water heater, and stove are all electric.

Nice try, though.

In January I dissed the LiveWire for lacking level 2 charging and you said :

From the moment I broke down until I got home, I made it a point to not go to stations with only one DC fast charger. Thankfully the PlugShare app makes it pretty easy to see what charger options are available at each station, and includes some user-generated photos to help parse that information.

I could pretty easily make it up to Lake Tahoe, charge up, and mosey on back. And there are plenty of great riding roads within a battery-worth of miles from Truckee, where there are tons of charging stations.

It definitely takes more planning than a gas bike, but you can get to some pretty great roads.

“LiveWire’s onboard charger isn’t compatible with level 2 charging. It’ll plug in and accept a charge, but it’s either the regular 110v rates or DC fast, there is no in-between.”

They’re pretty fun, especially the smallest two in the lineup, because they didn’t get wheelie control like the others. The little FXS will very happily point its front wheel at the sky if you ask it to.

These institutions need their donations coming in.

The LiveWire is NOT a touring bike. It is a Cafe Racer. In Long way up they rode pre-production models that were heavily modified by HD to work more like a touring bike.

Also... no level 2 charging?

Someone straight out of college with reliable transportation shouldn’t be buying ANYTHING. How about paying down those college loans and investing into tax deferred retirement funds.”

I knew this comment would be here... For many, the only thing that keeps them motivated to finish the school grind is a sweet, sweet reward at the end. For some, it’s an extravagant vacation, or an awesome home theatre or, in this case (as was mine), a dream car.

Something tells me that her working full time probably kept that debt low. How about we answer the question and not give out patronizing life advice to someone who is clearly very much on the ball?

Aside from assuming facts not in evidence— the author may not even be in school debt, or even if she is, her chosen career may be perfectly capable to rendering those debt (and retirement investment) concerns moot— the fact is, life is a terminal condition, and it is absolutely not worth living unless you take the
