US spends a miniscule amount of it’s federal budget on pork barrel projects. The US spent roughly $3.3B on what can be generously argued to be “pork barrel” projects according to aggressive watchdog agencies.

It’s to turn the idea from it being welfare. I’ve been unemployed for over 15 months. I want to have a job that can support my family. If the government hired me to help fix the infrastructure(on the level of ditch digging) and provided decent health insurance I would jump at the chance.
