That tongue piercing storyline reminded me a lot of The Doll episode on CYE, where Larry cut off the hair off of the little girl's doll after she asked him to.…

Funny that the author thinks there is "New York fetishism" in Girls. It's Brooklyn and there is no Brooklyn fetishism. Somehow, I never felt a "frisson of excitement" being in Brooklyn.
