Yeah, she never had a leg to stand on. I don’t work for a huge media company, just a lesser know manufacturing company, and when social media started taking the world by storm, we were given a very clear message...be careful what you say on social media because if people can associate you with our company, then we

Ironically, reports state that she couldn’t keep her opinions to herself ON the job either.

I love that the same folks who thought Colin Kaepernick should have been banned from football for his political opinions are the same ones who now think companies shouldn’t fire employees for being assholes like Gina Carano.

If Disney would have just said they were “moving on” from Carano because they needed a stronger presence in the role (read: Carano is a terrible actress), would anyone have batted an eye?

Disney has to be especially careful about antisemitism.

Try finding Dole Whip in Luxembourg.

Gina, there are easier more painless ways to kill yourself then picking a fight with a Disney Lawyer.  Think!!!

And a similar giant mouse population.

I wish Coppola would take a page from Taylor Swift, who did an end around the distributors, and engaged directly with theater chains.  Coppola I bet could do the same.  He certainly has the name recognition and the starpower behind him, and the big theaters would likely love to deal directly as they would get a better

They put out great content, but they don’t spend $80 million to promote said content. They rely on social media and word of mouth.

Well Nolan is viewed as the saviour of cinema and can do no wrong in the eyes of many (do you remember the hype about how Tenet would save the industry after covid?). Coppola, on the other hand, is now 85 and many years removed from being considered the great auteur he once was. Personally, I will take Coppola over

I say if any mainstream director has earned the right to have a weird-ass passion project film that might be a commercial flop as potentially his last hurrah - 60 YEARS after his directorial debut - it’s Francis Ford Coppola. Even a fiasco from Coppola would be better than many so-called successes.

I mean, it’s not going to make money is it. Let’s be honest. It’s probably not going to win awards either. But, it’s exactly what Coppolla wanted, which is not something many directors can say.

<David Lynch has entered the chat>

This is not how Coppola should end his directing career.

“from the director of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now”

I mean it is possible that it’s also...bad.

I love big swings, and I love FFC, but this is a vanity project for him and his most die-hard, unquestioning fans. And seemingly no one else.

When have the absolute loseriest bean counters NOT been in charge of the film industry in America?

really brutal that the absolute loseriest bean counters are in charge of the industry now. i really hope a24 or someone steps in, that recent billion dollar valuation has to count for something.
