I genuinely can't see the harmful path that you've alluded to here and elsewhere. Is it as general as product placement being bad for games? If so, that's been happening in film for a long time. What is the argument for potential harm in this particular case?

Other companies do dirt low business practices and people don't bat an eye. Nintendo has a little Mercedes car DLC in their highly praised game: "Gross DLC! Nintendo you sellouts!!!" Classy stuff.

Why are people being such assholes about this? Who cares? There are tons of kart options in Mario Kart 8, and these three Mercedes options are literally just three more added to the list. Ohhh IDK this is a good way to give out FREE DLC and still make money... im sure your system or game maker of choice wouldve done this AND charged you for the DLC
