As a persons salary goes up they should try to keep their expenses at the same level. If a person takes all their raises and essentially saves it (401k, IRA, mortgage, etc) they will not fall into the consumer trap. Sure makes taking a pay cut easier and creates a lot of career options since a healthy nest egg in a

Funny. The ad for being clever and the Giz article for being strange.

41 and I use an Andis trimmer to keep the stubble in check. Not as close as a razer but close enough for the wife, very durable and easy on the skin.

I think this article is targeted at Apple loyalists. There is practically zero reason to buy one of these if you aren't already tethered to iTunes. Both Amazon and Google offer a lot more bang for a persons buck and a refurb iPad is a better deal for those Apple loyalist cost cutters (if that market actually exists).

No surprise to many if WinRT goes the WinCE route. I think the Pro "tablet" has a real chance because I think it is inevitable that Ultrabooks will marry tablets and have successful little UltraTabs with the ability to run real desktop apps but in a format able to morph. The Macbook Air is pretty close already.

Wow... I hope she finds Mr Right but with that list of requirements anyone worth having is going to run... and if they don't they probably should.

I like choice but the reason 7" tablets are doing well isn't because most people prefer the form factor it is because they can be had for $200 or so. Why Apple wants to make a cheaper/smaller tablet seems like a lateral move at best as it in theory will cut into their larger iPad sales. Course the margin may be higher

We can complain all we want about Win8 but the fact is MS dominates the business market thanks to servers, dominates the developer market thanks to dotNet and SQL Server, dominates the desktop market thanks to games/business and lastly owns the living room with XBox.

Like many have suggested Google Voice is the obvious answer since it integrates VMail and Text messaging into your email account easily. All communications have one simple search interface as well. As a bonus two step authentication makes hacking that communication account very difficult.

Cold weather... ugh. Our winter prep is mainly setting up the guest bedrooms for friends and family flocking the cold weather to enjoy warm tropical weather at our house over the winter.

This story is useless without pictures.

I think you should check the definition of disastrous. Google did perform poorly but to call this quarter disastrous is a massive overstatement.

Close, but either QAM/NTSC or the ability to record to local storage is a must. The $15 a month premium just doesn't buy any advantage particularly when storage is so cheap and plentiful.

Amazon is beating Apple in accessibility, cost and management features for mass adoption which is what this article is about. Apple's in roads into high end school districts and top tier colleges are not particularly relevant since they are not ubiquitous.

It is a Microsoft product, always best to wait especially since the obsolete their tech often very quickly and put a premium on customer upgrades. Also this tablet is not adding anything that isn't already in the market so there really isn't a big reason to try it out aside from Windows developers who have been kept

If I don't like a person's service, I won't sit in their section again or I stop going to the restaurant. Beyond that my system is $2 per person regardless of the price/service. That is enough to supplement crappy wages and eliminates all the BS with tipping.

If a person cannot manage one savings account, they have no hope of managing two. IMO just put some extra money each month in your normal savings when you have pets and know when to stop spending on care. Pet Insurance can help but its limits are not a substitute for savings.

Getting TRex DNA directly may be impossible but changing latent DNA from prehistoric creatures such as crocs isn't. I doubt we will ever see a dinosaur brought back into existence at least in my lifetime, but the possibility of creating a DNA structure from a descendant could be.

Apple wasn't saved by a walled garden and it isn't what is making it loads of money today. Innovation in a stagnant market is what did that. Their walled off PCs almost killed them in the 90s. It is likely going to happen again since walled gardens don't adapt well and no one company can dominate innovation. It is

I hate to be an elitist dbag who walks around talking about how it was in my day but it looks like these people should be pimped slapped. I am fairly confident none of them can code or know what geek culture really is.
