Sounds like Andre Iguodala isn’t gonna stand for this:

Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos...

It’s a dry run for the eventual hostile takeover.

Yup. Getting us used to future broadcasting options.

Just a test for the switch over after the inauguration.

What’s nuts is that not only is Trump a public figure (i.e. someone famous), but he is now an elected public figure. We are essentially his employers, so he should be more—not less—obligated to respond to shit like this.

If the report exists, and the intelligence community finds it “credible” enough to brief the President, then it’s newsworthy. Report it. If it turns out to be nothing, that’s newsworthy too. Report it. That’s what journalists are supposed to do.

“it unfairly forces a public figure—Trump, in this case—to respond to a set of allegations that might or might not be entirely scurrilous”

The newsworthy fact is that every intelligence agency we have is concerned enough about the contents to share them with the executive and legislative branches of the federal government. The natural next question is “what’s in it that is so concerning” and “we don’t want to say” is not an acceptable answer.

Whether DJT maybe likes to watch hookers pee on each other is not the point. The point is that a foreign government may have video documentation of this, and could use it to compromise the President-elect. The US intelligence community finds the source of this information credible enough that they haven’t dismissed

You people seem determined to miss the point. The dossier exists, and is of enough concern to our country that it was delivered by our intelligence agencies directly to the president and president elect and our entire government has been reviewing it for months. This is all 100% true and confirmed.

We mocked them for that because that was as laughable as a tag line as their claim they were fair and balanced.

The reporter’s job is not to simply dump as much information as possible into the public domain [...]. It is to gather information, sift through it, and determine what is true and what is not.

Heh, after an entire year of trying to be sycophantic, all those reporters are going after a listicle maker for actually doing something they didn’t, their job.

Yes. 100%. As soon as the document is known to exist and be circulating among “important people” (who apparently didn’t immediately write it off as nonsense) then the story becomes: there’s this thing that lots of important elected officials have and are (or are not) investigating...and it’s my job as a reporter to

Jesus Christ. It’s really hard to fight the alarmist impulses some days.
