Kinda like blaming GPS for driving into a lake. Interesting theory.
That's something I hadn't even considered, but it wouldn't be a surprising outcome for this technology.
I'm not a cult member, but it's such an obvious good idea, it's a real shock it took basically 50 years for it to gain widespread adoption.
I don't know, but I'm hearing in my head an R2D2 scream.
+1. I'm not a member of the cult of Tucker, but this has always been a solid idea. I don't know how likely I am to get a car with the feature, but I don't denigrate the idea at all.
"Adaptive headlights, which react to vehicle speed and turning radius to shine the lights' beam in the actual direction a car is traveling, lowered collision and property damage claims on all cars tested. "
So, how does this gadget deal with something like this?
So what. This will not dissuade me from buying those new sunglasses with a Sidewalk Departure Warning System. I still have faith in the technology. And I'm really tired of walking off curbs.
I am willing to bet that people rely on the technology too much. They hit the blinker, it doesn't indicate a warning, and they cross 4 lanes of traffic.
Lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control. Forward crash avoidance! Shouldn't all these activities be accomplished by paying attention?
Exactly.
