Right, I thought Gus had appeared before, has he? Or is this a new villain?
Right, I thought Gus had appeared before, has he? Or is this a new villain?
I can't remember — who's Gus? I looked up "Big Bang" to be sure I remembered tight and I couldn't come up with it…
Can I say that I thought it great that the captain's worst nightmare was a mystery shopper?
Been away from this for a couple of weeks. I thought "Kill The Moon" was damned silly at one level (as a science fiction guy with a real background in physics the howlers were sometimes a little much) but the character work was absolutely fantastic. Here too we get a real great bit from Clara, and I have never, ever…
It's worth mentioning that among Jewish families in particular the name completely disappeared. (Duh).
Adolf was once a pretty common name is Central Europe, kind of like Robert or Fred (I don't know the numbers on how often it was used) — Imean I come from a Jewish family and there were lots of Adolfs here and there. Heck, I had an uncle Adolf fought the Germans in WW II ( and weirdly, worked in the lab where the US…
He's a hero in the Hungarian speaking part of Romania as well, and in Hungary. From a strategic standpoint) he failed. He also didn't get the moniker of "Impaler" until some time after he was dead.
You know, this is one of those songs I hear as background in stores and such; I'm at an age where keeping up with the latest pop music is no longer something I have the time for (unless I am paid to do it, as O'Neal is). Not that I don't like it; I wish I could.
You really don't seem to understand a couple of things. the power of even small corporations far outstrips that of larger unions, even. The only problem most unions create for their members is — oh no — getting them better pay and benefits.
Pertwee wasn't traveling and I'd not describe the Brigadier as a companion — Jo Grant was, IIRC, specifically re-written to be a less outspoken woman, more damsel in distress.
Must disagree on Being Human. I think it started very well and then got off the rails a bit. I think if they focused more on all the day-to-day beats… I mean, it came out just after True Blood. and I think it handled a lot of stuff way better. It wasn't perfect, but I give much of it a pass for a few very, very well…
As I said, I don't think she's terrible. And I really do hope you are correct and I end up looking silly.
apologies, then, I wasn't aware of ho serious you were being there. I know this shit can trigger people. So again, you have my sincerest apologies.
You know, with a character who can't die…
Thinking about this a bit more I am inclined to agree a bit, I think maybe I am reacting to her line delivery and affect; the manic thing really is almost a defining part of her. Maybe I am just old, but I want to give her tranquilizers or 'ludes so I can actually hear her dialogue, you know?
Yeah, I got that part but for some reason I thought it was better written with Nine. Ten and 11 I wanted to smack around and say "you ever meet anyone with PTSD?" The current doctor I was like, "dude, we just saw you in your soldier incarnation, y'all might have a little more empathy here."
I understand about that if you are Argentinian, and believe me I am well aware of what went on there. (My parents did some work with people from there and Chile during the 70s and 80s).
it isn't just being witty or having strong ties to the mail lead in isolation. It's that the witty is all there has been. Clara frustrates me because she's a character I want to like but isn't given much to work with (yet). I saw glimpses of good things in previous episodes and hope they continue in that vein rather…
shit that's nightmarish.
I do hope you are correct, I just dread having some scene where Danny enters the TARDIS and i all amazed, and Clara is his vehicle for "mind blown." Or that she's presented as a "cool teacher" a la Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society. You know what I mean. If they get away from that, then all the better.
