In defense of the Eagles I will say that they’ve basically played without their first string most of this year, and I heard in their most recent outing had even been forced to pull up Practice Squad members to fill their roster.

As much as I’d like to see that, I don’t see either of these teams doing much in the playoffs once one of them can keep from shitting themselves long enough to “win” the division.

I’m curious to understand how you think screaming in the face of a 19- or 20-year-old who knows he messed up in front of all his teammates and the entire stadium is going to improve his performance. If he’s not doing well enough to keep his job, fine...bench him. But you don’t have to be a giant asshole an berate him

Karma will be reached when Dabo's boss next year will be Dan Snyder.

Sorry if that came off a little hard. I’ve been having bad conversations about my stance on this subject for a while. Its an emotional argument based on what I consider my principals. And while that might not be the best thing in the universe to base a stance on, it is hardly the worst.

I actually agree with you on all of this. The only problem I really have is that the sole reason we’re even having opinions on Kerr’s opinion is because he fell for our big wet president’s trap of replying to his “scared little boy” comment before getting his views straight on China (or even voicing an opinion in the

Nah. We can be pissed off at the NBA for silencing someone’s take. That’s not like the various administrations sticking Uncle Sam’s genitals into the world’s various holes, but something we can do if we like. Nobody’s saying that we want to enforce our worldview on China. But I’ll be damned if I can’t say I don’t like

Kerr is obviously a principled person, and if I had to guess (and I do) I’d say that he is balancing his desire to speak out with the fact that if he ruins the NBA’s relationship with China he could conceivably cost a lot of normal people their livelihoods.

I don’t intend to defend what GB did there, just pointing out that in addition to being tremendously shitty and a violation of human rights, China is also violating a binding international agreement they have.

Gonna reply to myself here.

On one hand, you have the Chinese government who wants the ability to extradite residents of Hong Kong with no oversight. The same Chinese government that regularly disappears people in it’s custody, and is running literal concentration camps for ethnic minorities and political dissidents.

Complicated is short-hand for money on one side and morals on the other.

You’re at least twenty years slow on this one. Considering they suspended Abdul-Raouf and then enacted a rule requiring players to stand during the anthem, the NBA has always been clear that it does not care for any kind of social commentary that might conceivably impact the bottom line.

What American liberals are you talking about? Most left of center publications and shows I’ve been tuned in are fairly alarmed about rampant human rights violations both domestically and internationally.

China, stick to sports.

This whole saga has been really sobering to show how the NBA only cares about social issues when they dont effect their bottom line. James Harden literally just apologized for Morey’s tweet. A PRO DEMOCRACY tweet.

Yes, many do. However, NOBODY should be shamed into doing it
