Yeah, I said the exact same thing a while back in another post. My car had 2009-dated tyres when I got it last year and even though there was still some thread left in the tyres they were completely useless in the wet. And that’s on a 100hp FWD hacthback.
The car was designed to and met all of the safety regulations in place at the time. Old tires, poor maintenance, excessive speed, driver inability and possible modifications have absolutely nothing to do with Porsche and everything to do with the owner/driver.

I don’t remember Porsche advising Rodas to disregard traffic laws while riding on tires that I wouldn’t trust on a Prius. It was a tragic accident caused by idiotic driving. Nothing more, nothing less.
The lawsuit had been thrown out once already, so it’s clear that investigators found no fault in Porsche’s design of the car. I understand why the family is doing that, but they are suing the wrong people. They should instead sue the estate of the driver.
