You have a point, but in my experience, the vast majority of no crank issues boil down to problems with the ground wire to the starter/engine block or occasionally the power wire.  Quick check for that (if there is access) is connecting a set of booster cables to the starter and then the battery.  Sometimes it’s an

Hobbyists generally can’t afford high priced lawyers.

I’m betting he knows more about the problem than he’s letting on.  Who moves a car across the country, gets it smogged in California and then one day when it doesn’t start, gives up with no diagnosis and sells the car?

I hate the “No start” description. Please sellers, learn to be a bit more precise. Is it a no crank condition, or does it crank and not fire? The two have very different potential causes. If it’s a no crank condition I would be far less worried than if it cranks and does not fire. ND based on the provided

I want to NP this so  bad, but any car that requires a “massive” service at 30K is not going to be a deal for me.

Taking the numbers given at face value works out to a 20% profit margin. Most businesses don’t do that well.

I don’t think the information they are giving is accurate. I believe they are under-representing the copper value to discourage theft. You think the people stealing it don’t realize how much they are getting paid? Say 6 gauge, three strand. Copper weight is ~0.08 lb/ft per 6 gauge strand. So ~2.4 lb/10 foot length. At

See?  Short list.  ;)

Much shorter list - new cars that are actually worth MSRP.

Welcome to the dark side, otherwise known as reality. You might find the FCP Euro build interesting:

I am well aware of that, but the article was specifically referencing muscle car era vehicles and someone brought up soy based harness insulation which was not a thing then.

That wasn’t the case for muscle cars or any car of that era.  My 67 Ford (non muscle car) still has the OEM wiring with no insulation deterioration.

Pathetic that a site named after a jalopy has such a hate on for them.

I know this comment is fake because if Trump had made it, it would be all caps.  ;)

I can’t remember right now.

Some of the local teenage Amish have killer sound systems with subwoofers in their buggies.   When they really go modern they put rubber tires on them.
