Considering the way that rape gets prosecuted and the way the victim is treated, it's pretty understandable why so many people do not report and would not like them to be.

Ehh I'm pretty on board with the kneecapping. Animal abuse is right up there with child and elder abuse and people who do it are just the absolute worst, and I've seen so many animals who were the victims of seemingly random violence that I don't have much faith in the justice system to serve as a deterrent.

And you know, since their reaction was not anger, and not, "OH GOD. No, but thank you for looking into this!" that there's something yucky going on there.
