So glad making jokes about sex or touching people is finally taboo in society.

A bunch of guys whining. Meanwhile there’s someone out there who was simply doing her job.

Seeing as you’re the first person to mention woke in this case (the word doesn’t appear in the article), it seems you are the one making it mean whatever you want it to.

To be fair, articles on predatory behavior by famous people have long brought out some asshattery. See: the AVC commentariat’s enduring and passionate defense of Louis CK over the years.

Yes, this is an accurate description of society.

And I think most complaining about wokeness is the anti-virtue signaling version of virtue signaling.

In society? I don’t know, I enjoy physical contact with my friends, and make dirty jokes all the time. In the workplace, on the other hand, I do not do those things, because I’m a fucking grownup who respects my colleagues.

fart

You're dumber than dog shit and a terrible human being.

None of this is based in reality. Be quiet, and let your betters talk.

Got it, you were a shitty employee. Okay, no need to tell the whole internet about it.

So you sexually harassed your coworkers?  Ya, good you worked when people looked the other way.  Creepy though that you admit that.

It feels like the commentariat has experienced a dramatic uptick in the presence of asshats since the big staff exodus a couple months ago.

Disappointing.

Nobody gets fired for briefly touching a woman’s knee. Langella is a fairly big name, and given he’s older than the norm for this part, the production obviously wanted to cast him. You fire somebody under contract for nothing, you get sued. This was something or he’d not have gotten fired.

I think you may be misunderstanding a bit how this stuff works. What we have here is a snippet of legally vetted description of the incident. What actually happened, in context, likely made someone feel uncomfortable (or objectified or threatened) enough that the people in the know saw it as a fireable offense.

No

Hopefully your tombstone won’t read “he got regularly outraged on behalf of sexual harassers”

It’s not ok when a 21 year old guy does it, or a 40 year old guy or an 80 year old guy. It isn’t ok or ‘cute’. keep your hands to yourselves; train yourselves to stop making sexual innuendoes.

If an actor hasn’t learned not to sexually harass people by the age of 84, it seems like he doesn’t have a lot of time left to figure it out.

Great performances by the cast should also be mentioned. The stoner dude is especially entertaining.
