Yeah, that type of disparity seems to be fairly common in ultra-budget equipment. It’s similar to how a technically bad movie can become an enormous blockbuster - hit juuuuuuuust enough sweet spots to appease the lowest-common-denominator, and you’ll have enough positive momentum to overcome mediocrity.
