I would love that, but I think DC (Warner specifically) would shy away from revealing that someone who cared for Bruce as a child is gay. Such is the world we live in, I’m afraid.

Well, there was that time Alfred helped Thomas dispose of a dead hooker’s body. That sort of thing builds bonds, man.

I’ve always liked the modern Alfred, like the one in B:TAS. Unflappable, has seen everything, and Batman would be a mess without him. This is why I kinda hated the harsh, agressive Alfred of Gtham at first - until I understood Gotham had absolutely nothing to do with the comics or any sense of logic. Now I find him

First - your comment seems to imply that you consider *yourself a ‘prominent thinker’, since you claim your statement (made without any substantiating evidence of your qualifications) is as valid as Hawking’s. Second - your comment provides no explanation of the mechanism behind your conclusions. So, yea. You provide

Snarky Alfred is the best Alfred. BTAS Alfred forever!

“Oh please, humans. Why would you assume we spiders don’t understand textspeak? We’ve been on the web since before you evolved”

Straw man. Just because science has changed it’s mind before about “things” doesn’t mean it has changed it’s mind on black holes, or will. Everyone’s sarcasm is fitting. Black holes aren’t doors, another straw man. Your brain creates these “seems like a door” comparisons because it doesn’t understand black holes, and

Where you will, presumably, declare him wrong again on the grounds he COULD change his mind in light of new evidence later.

Basically, you’ve objected to his idea on the grounds that you don’t understand it, and said your objection is EXACTLY as valid as any other objection on the grounds that people who know what

Sure, but unless you have similar credentials to Steven Hawking, you saying he’s probably wrong is like my 3 year old telling me how to cook dinner - cute, silly, and not even a little bit helpful.

sorry, but the door/wall test is not applicable here - as on both sides of your door there’s 3 (or 4 including time) dimensional space. The thing with a black hole is that it is entierly different - behind such a transition matrix MIGHT be another universe - but not simply one with different nature forces (like

I think black holes are made out of dinosaur semen, and I’m as wrong or right as anybody else on this thread.

Hey yeah scientists constantly prove themselves wrong, but that doesn’t mean your argument based on an analogy between an infinitesimal point of infinite mass and gravity and a door is in any way correct or relevant.

I knew I'd find someone smarter than Stephen Hawking on Gizmodo.

Where are these sad puppies I keep hearing about? Are they later in the show? Will they be cheered up with treats and belly rubs?

I miss the days when you could source your horrible violence locally, instead of getting it from some Erik the Red chain store.

The U.S. did not enter WW II until its comment "should we or shouldn't we?" got enough upvotes that they felt confident enough to drop two nuclear bombs. FACT.

Honestly, this movie is so incredibly ahead of it's time. Don't watch it at Christmas if that's what's holding you back - but definitely take an evening and watch it closely, listening carefully. There is so much to take away from this film! And Jimmy Stewart's portrayal of a man falling deeper and deeper into the

Actually, "It's a Wonderful Life" isn't what you would expect. The treacle at the end is actually earned. It's a darker movie than people realize; a man giving up his dreams and finding himself trapped in his own life.

Calling it treacle isn't really accurate. While that's the impression one would get from all the "let's watch it at xmas" people, I've watched this multiple times and it is NOT a happy movie, it's dark and depressing and it's overall message is really a downer. People grasp at the holiday theme and the 'happy ending'

The middle of the movie is actually pretty dark. The whole thing comes off like an extended episode of "The Twilight Zone" but with that treacly ending added on.
