@ilovetofu: I don't believe Safari has tab process isolation but they do have something similar for plugins. So when Flash crashes every flash applet crashes but the browser stays open and intact.
@Willard Fillmore: Penultimate looks pretty good, cause it has "wrist protection" so when you write your wrist doesn't make sporadic inputs.

@Willard Fillmore: I've managed to memorize shortcuts for a lot of those symbols. And if you can't you can always use Pages auto correct as a way of typing symbols.

You seem to need a pretty powerful computer to pull of the live conversion though. Tried to set up an old P4 PC as the server but it failed terribly.
